CAPS Donates over $1,000 to Skin Cancer Foundation

The leading plastic surgery practice in Central Ohio donates $1,068 to Skin Cancer Foundation – $1 for every new Facebook Like in May.

As partners in promoting healthy skin, Columbus Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery is proud to announce the donation of $1,068 to the Skin Cancer Foundation, in honor of Skin Cancer Awareness Month. The leading plastic surgery practice in Central Ohio pledged a $1 donation for every new like on their Facebook page.

“With summer upon us, it’s important now more than ever to make sure people are taking care of their skin while enjoying the delightful warm weather,” said Ashley Dawson, Marketing Communications Coordinator at CAPS. “Through the assistance of our community, we are proud to donate over $1,000 to the Skin Cancer Foundation, and help support their mission of fighting America’s most common form of cancer.”

Each year, the Skin Cancer Foundation dedicates the month of May to skin cancer awareness and prevention. Over 3.5 million cases of skin cancer are diagnosed in over 2 million people annually. With proper education and protection, the risk of skin cancer can be significantly lowered.

“Anytime you are out in the sun, our doctors recommend practicing proper skin care,” Dawson said. “This includes applying sunscreen every two hours while exposed to the sun’s harmful rays, and seeking shade at the height of the day. We remain dedicated to keeping people looking youthful and cancer free!”

During Skin Cancer Awareness month, CAPS encouraged the public, through their Facebook page, to learn more about skin cancer prevention. Those who liked their Facebook page to help fight against skin cancer were rewarded with a free travel-size sunscreen tube, to protect their skin no matter where they went.
