Timothy A. Treece, M.D. F.A.C.S.

In a recent survey of Columbus area cosmetic and plastic surgeons, Dr. Timothy A. Treece was selected as the region's Best Surgeon by his peers. "I try to incorporate a real artistic sense in my work to create tasteful results, not exaggerated or unnatural looks," Dr. Treece says of his approach. "And there's a real art to that."
Dr. Treece has had lifelong interests in drawing and watercolor but felt that a career in art "did not make as much sense as really helping people and being able to use science." His creative talents, nevertheless, remain crucial to his work. "There is simply no cookie cutter technique; the surgeon must match the operation to the person, and every person is unique."
Dr. Treece co-founded Columbus Aesthetic and Plastic Surgery with Dr. Susan Dietrich Vasko in 1997. The clinic actively supports a variety of charity organizations, including ongoing commitments to Race for the Cure and Interplast, an international group of academic surgeons who provide free facial reconstruction to children in developing nations. Dr. Treece also shares Columbus Aesthetic's dedication to the critical role surgeons must play in "helping plastic surgery students become knowledgeable so that they will do great work." As a teacher, he has received awards from his residents.
A Columbus area native, Dr. Treece graduated from The Ohio State University School of Medicine. He performed a five-year residency at the University of Houston. Dr. Treece then spent three years in the practice of general surgery before returning to O.S.U. to complete a Plastic Surgery residency. He is a Fellow of the American College of Surgeons. He is certified by the American Board of Plastic Surgery and has been performing plastic surgery since 1992.
A skier and fly fishermen, Dr. Treece also enjoys sailboat racing on Lake Erie with sons Tyler, Dylan and Luke.
