What skin issues does Halo treat?
Halo can treat a wide range of skin concerns, most of which are a result of the natural aging process and sun damage. Some common issues that Halo helps address include:
- Discoloration and sun spots
- Uneven skin tone and texture
- Enlarged pores
- Visible signs of aging
- Fine lines and scarring
What can I expect before, during, and after the Halo treatment?
Thirty minutes to an hour before we begin your laser treatment, we will apply a topical ointment to your skin. This ointment will provide a slight numbing of your skin to reduce sensation during the treatment and to make sure you’re as comfortable as possible.
The Halo Laser treatment takes between 30-45 minutes to complete. Once the numbing ointment has taken effect, your clinician will treat your face or other body area, section by section, using the Halo hand piece. The hand piece uses a motion tracking technology to signal when an area has been fully treated. This smart technology ensures that your entire treatment area is covered and receives equal exposure to the laser.
After the laser portion of your treatment is complete, your clinician will utilize a cold air fan as well as a mineral water mist to help cool your skin and keep you comfortable.
Slight swelling, redness, and a warm sensation are normal and should be expected to last only 12-24 hours after your treatment is complete. You will be able to return to normal activities the same day. However, it is necessary to wear sun protection following your treatment and you should avoid extended periods of sun exposure for the next 12-14 days to allow your skin to fully heal.
Within 2-4 days of your treatment, you will begin to experience bronzed looking skin that will eventually turn to flaking and peeling. This is the skin’s natural healing process and means that your treatment did exactly as it was supposed to. As your skin peels, new skin cells come to the surface and produce a more glowing, youthful appearance.
