Thread Lift The little lift you need

Say hello to a younger looking you.

What is a thread lift?

A Thread Lift (also known as Threading) is a nonsurgical, in-office procedure using threads composed of absorbable suture material to uniquely lift sagging skin of face, including the jawline, forehead, and cheek area.

A Threading treatment can be done at either Columbus Aesthetic & Plastic Surgery office. It is tailored to each patient to address skin laxity in the cheeks, jowls, and jawline. Typically, two to four sutures are placed on each side of the face to create the lifting effect achieved from the procedure. The suture material is placed underneath the surface of the skin in the fat layer, and the unique “cones” lock and lift the suture in place, creating the skin lifting. The tightening effect both occurs immediately and improves further over about a three- to six-month period.

What skin concerns can be treated with a Thread Lift?

  • Fine lines & wrinkles

  • Jowls

  • Smile & laugh lines

  • Elasticity & firmness

Does a Thread Lift leave you with natural-looking results?

Yes. The results help to achieve and recreate youthful curves to the face, particularly along the cheeks and jawline.

Is a Thread Lift a substitute for a facelift or neck lift?

No. More conservative, less dramatic results are achieved with Threading than a traditional facelift or neck lift. However, for those patients that have only mild facial laxity (skin sagging), Threading may be part of a treatment plan to achieve proper restoration of facial proportions and balance. Your specialist will be able to recommend the right treatment, or a combination of treatments, for you.

How much downtime is there after having a Thread Lift?

There is minimal to no downtime associated with Threading. While individual results may vary, most patients experience minimal to mild soreness for a day or two. Most patients can resume daily social activities within 24-48 hours, if not the same day.

What can I expect during a Thread Lift treatment?

A Threading treatment takes 45 minutes to one hour to complete with minimal discomfort and usually little to no downtime. Your specialist will first create a treatment map with white pencil markings on the face to indicate where the Threading sutures will be placed. After marking is complete, local numbing is administered to where the suture will enter and exit the skin. After numbing is complete, the Threading sutures will be placed under the skin surface.

What results can I expect from a Thread Lift treatment?

Once placed, the sutures and cones are locked in the face by gentle massaging sweeps of the skin to create an immediate lifting effect. Results continue to improve over approximately a six-month period as the suture and cones are naturally broken down and eliminated by the body, stimulating collagen in the areas of placement.

Can a Thread Lift be combined with other fillers or procedures?

Yes, Threading may be used in conjunction with other laser or energy-based devices, or as a complement to facial injectables for a more comprehensive approach to facial rejuvenation. However, your specialist may advise separating treatments or completing them the same day depending on patient safety and ultimate outcomes.
